User Guide: Family Justice Councilor

A Family Justice Councilor (FJC) will identify potential candidates for a mediated separation/divorce. These candidates will be limited to people going through the Early Resolution Process.

As part of the screening, FJCs will confirm that both Self-represented Litigants (SRLs) are open to mediation and that at least one lacks financial means and qualifies for pro-bono services.

hiAfter FJC initial screening, each SRL will be booked in the Qase platform with separate Independent Legal Advisor's (ILAs) and one Family Law Mediator (for a total of 4 cases, two per party).
